Shaila Miah BDS Lond 2005 MFDS RCS

Dr Miah graduated from GKT (London) with Honors in 2005, and obtained her postgraduate qualification MFDS in 2007. She undertook her Vocational Training in South West Essex in 2006, prior to gaining experience as a Senior House Officer in Maxillo-facial surgery at Basildon Hospital in 2007.

Dr Miah enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is a valued member of the team.

Usman Yaqoob BDS Lond 2013

Dr Usman Yaqoob also know as Oz qualified from Queen Mary University of London and has gained Membership to the Faculty of Royal College of surgeons (MFDS)

Usman has worked as a Senior house officer at Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he gained experience in Orthodontics and Oral Surgery.

His gentle and easy going manner helps put nervous patients at ease. Aside from dentistry Usman enjoys following many sports particularly football, boxing and cricket to name a few.

Sanna Ayub BDS Lond 2010

Dr Sanna Ayub graduated from Bart's and the London in 2010. She completed her vocational training in Kent, Sussex and Surrey deanery. After Vocational training Sanna realised she loved working in general practice and has continued to practice as an associate.

Sanna has completed part one of her MJDF exam and has completed short courses in aesthetic dentistry. She takes a particular interest in restorative dentistry.

Aside of dentistry Sanna is an avid reader and takes a keen interest in history and travelling.

Saima Undre BDS King's College London 2018

Dr Saima Undre graduated from Kings College London in 2018 and is passionate about delivering high quality dentistry to her patients. She has a keen interest in cosmetic/aesthetic treatments and has undertaken various courses for composite bonding and short-term orthodontics.

Saima is currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Restorative Dentistry to expand the dental care she can offer her patients. Her empathetic and caring nature also makes her a favourite when treating anxious and nervous patients.

In her free time, Saima likes to travel and enjoys reading. She is also a very keen baker!

Jasmine Pannu BDS Magadh 2004 Statutory Exam 2008

Dr Jasmine Pannu has been working as a qualified dentist since 2004 and joined the Wickford Dental Practice & Orthodontic Centre team in July 2020.

After qualifying in India, Jasmine successfully completed the International Qualifying Examination (IQE) to start practice in the UK in 2009. She Completed her vocational training in South London and also attained further qualification MJDF Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons, London.

Jasmine is passionate about dental care and always has a patient centred approach in treatment planning. She strongly believes in minimally invasive and biomimetic approach. As a passionate dentist, she’s constantly seeking to learn and adapt to the latest developments in the field of dentistry, and is currently undertaking a PG Diploma in Implantology. Her areas of expertise include basic dental treatments like Root Canal Therapy, Crowns and Bridges, smile design & enhancement treatments and aesthetic fillings.

In her spare time, Jasmine is devoted to her family and enjoys socialising with friends.

Shaleza Aise BDS Kings College London 2000

Shaleza attended Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls in Elstree, after which she graduated from Kings College, School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London in 2000 to become a dentist.

She completed her Vocational Training in Boston, Lincolnshire in 2001 and then worked in mixed practices in London from 2001-2006.

Shaleza worked as a Private Dentist in Surrey from 2006-2018 and presently works in mixed practices in London as well as Wickford Dental Practice & Orthodontic Centre.

In her spare time, Shaleza enjoys listening to music, singing, playing chess and travelling. She has a keen interest in charity and Human Rights and has been a member of Amnesty International since the age of 14.

Sundari graduated from Mahatma Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences in Pondicherry in 2007, she then went on to register as a dentist in the UK in 2021.

Sundari is passionate about delivering high quality dentistry to her patients. She enjoys carrying out aesthetic treatments and has a keen interest in endodontics, for which she has undertaken various courses.

She always does her upmost to create a calm and friendly atmosphere in the dental surgery, and makes a conscious effort to ensure her patients are feeling nice and relaxed throughout their appointment.

In her leisure time, Sundari loves to be creative, and enjoys painting and drawing. She is also devoted to her family and likes to spend as much time as possible with her children. She speaks Tamil, English and some French.

Saira graduated from Ziauddin College of Dentistry in 2014 and successfully completed her ORE Exam in the UK in April 2022, she also completed the MFDS Part 1 in 2018 and continued on to obtain full registration with the Royal College of Surgeons.

Saira is passionate about her profession and focuses on providing excellent oral health care to her patients. She endeavours to meet patient expectations to the best of her ability.

Dr Jane Woodington gained her dental degree from Glasgow University in 1991. She has a wealth of experience in clinical dentistry within the UK and overseas in both NHS, public and Private dentistry. With a commitment to education and driving clinical standards upon achieving her Fellowship of the Faculty of General Dental Practice in 2014 she became both a Fellowship Mentor and Assessor for her colleagues. She has since gained her Masters in Business Administration, Medical Law & Ethics, and Post-graduate Certificate in Medical and Healthcare Education. She is a member of the Faculty of General Dentistry, the College of General Dentistry, and registered with the GDC and also JCCP (Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners).

Jane aims to provide patient focused, quality aesthetic dental services in a safe, clean environment, helping patients to achieve the smile they wish and deserve. She is passionate about helping patients achieve the smile they wish and deserve, and has trained in facial rejuvenation (anti-wrinkle and dermal filler treatments), short term orthodontics (Six Month Smiles & Invisalign) with straight teeth in 6-9 months (average).

Jane’s interests include photography, travel, windsurfing, and is a beginner golfer.

Hygienist

Shanjida Alam Registered under s36C of the Dentists Act 1984 2019National Diploma in Dental Nursing NEBDN 2016

Shanjida is registered as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist with the GDC under s36C of the Dentists Act 1984 2019. She is a dedicated and enthusiastic Hygienist/Therapist with excellent interpersonal and clinical skills, having experience in treating a diverse range of patients. Patient comfort and confidence is important to Shanjida, so she always creates a calm and friendly atmosphere to make the patient experience as relaxing as possible.

Prior to her Hygienist role, Shanjida qualified as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Dhaka university, Bangladesh.

She is thoroughly enjoying her time at Wickford Dental Practice & Orthodontic Centre, and tries to maintain a healthy work/life balance. Shanjida has two young girls and enjoys travelling the world with them. She also has a special interest in cooking and fitness.

Dental Hygienist

Kate found an interest in dentistry from the age of 14 and completed work experience at the dental practice she used to attend as a child. The principal dentist arranged for her to attend Guys hospital for a few days to work with student hygienists. Once she had completed school, Kate became a dental nurse, working full time in a private practice covering most areas of dentistry & attending college 1 night a week. After passing the National Certificate in Dental Nursing Kate looked at various options and to further her career decided to join the RAF, which she left 3 years later when her eldest son was born. She returned to Essex in 2013 and continued working as a dental nurse.

Kate is passionate about dentistry, so she followed her dream and applied to Essex University for Dental Hygiene. Her application was successful, and she was accepted onto the course, she went on the qualify as a Dental Hygienist in 2019.

Kate love the challenges the job gives her when helping patients to improve their oral hygiene and finds it rewarding when she sees the improvements and confidence in her patients after they have achieved good oral health.

In Kates spare time she enjoys days out with her boys finding fun & exciting things to do, they enjoy going for nice walks in the woods and trips to the beach with their two dogs Buddy & Lola.

 

Orthodontics

Joseph Sherlock BDS Lond 1996,FDS RCS Eng 1999, MOrth RCS Eng 2005

Dr Sherlock qualified from Kings College, London in 1996, obtaining his FDS RCS in 1999, and obtained his specialist orthodontic qualifications in 2005.

He completed his Vocational Training in 1998 at BHB Community Health Care Trust, and undertook positions in Private Dental Practice form 1999 to 2006, then as Specialist Registrar in Orthodontics at Kings College (London) from 2002 to 2005. Dr Sherlock then furthered his career as Senior Registrar and Honorary Lecturer at Glasgow University Dental Hospital & School from 2006 to 2008, prior to joining Wickford Dental Practice & Orthodontic Centre, where he is a valued member of the team.

Dr Sherlock is an active member of the British Orthodontic Society.

Orthodontic Therapist

Hayley Cairns Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh 2010

Hayley started her dental career in 1999 as an orthodontic nurse in a small practice. She worked there until 2007 when she gained her NEBDN Certification in Dental Nursing.

She moved on to a larger practice and in 2008 gained her Certification in Orthodontic Nursing.

In 2010 Hayley graduated from Manchester Dental School with a Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. One year later, she gained a certificate in Radiography and since then has become calibrated in PAR scoring and IOTN.

Hayley is a mum to two lovely children who like to keep her very busy. She is also a qualified dance teacher, and in her ‘not so spare time’ she enjoys baking and decorating cakes.

 

Joanna Prus Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh 2010, National Certificate NEBDN 2006

Joanna started her career in dentistry as a dental nurse with a very strong interest in Orthodontics. In 2010 she applied for a place at the University of Bristol and was accepted. Joanna studied hard and gained her qualification as an Orthodontic Therapist, graduating from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2011. Since then she has expanded her experience through working with private and NHS patients in Essex, Kent, and London. Joanna has worked at Wickford Dental Practice & Orthodontic Centre since April 2023 and thoroughly enjoys helping our lovely patients to achieve the best result in their orthodontic treatment.

Joanna loves her job and takes great pride in her work, as well as enjoying the friendly working environment.
